Awful Italy dirty and moldy apartment._x000D_ _x000D_ We stayed at Grimaldi terraces by Wonderful Italy in Catania for 6 nights._x000D_ Our travel began extremely smooth and when we landed in Catania I sent Wonderful Italy a message to let them know that we would be on time for our scheduled check in and we might even be at the apartments sooner if they could arrange the check in sooner. We then proceeded to the adress and were pleasently surprised by the location as the city center wasnt far by foot. The street itself was pretty loud and busy which was a little let down, especially at night but oh well. We then waited for over half an hour after the scheduled check in time for our keys and were met by a young guy who rushed the stairs to the apartments and tried explaining everything to me while I was catching my breath on all those stairs. There were a lot of narrow stairs to get to the apartments but I have to highlight positively that the guy did carry my suitcase all the way to the top, that was extremely nice. Okay well now that we were upstairs he unlocked the apartment aaaaand, I think both mine and my partners faces visibly dropped as it looked very different online. It was tiny and very run down by previous guests. The shower had black mold growing beside it and everything felt and looked kind of dirty. The only thing that was close to the pics was the terrace where you had a very good view on mount Etna and the city center of Catania. However the guy then also let us know the cleaning staff forgot to put sheets and apparently also blankets and pillows on our bed and would have to come again. We also noticed that there were no towels for us at all. We were then left alone and I went straight into contact with wonderful italy to get sheets and towels. They told us: ,He will be there at 9pm, more or less.‘ Mind you its currently 4:45pm and we had planned to take a nap and shower before exploring our dinner options. Since no one showed up for a while we looked upstairs to see if we could find anything to make the bed with and found some sheets and put them on ourselves, hoping these were new ones. The guy from check in came about 2,5 hours later for towels. We got a whopping 5 towels for 2 people, 1 big one, 2 smaller for hair and 2 even smaller for face. But we thought well ok whatever, they will surely exchange them every 2-3 days. Jokes on us you had to pay for new towels and sheets. It was almost laughable since we put the sheets on ourselves. We were lucky to have had two beach towels to use from home but werent lucky about the bed situation as the sheets stank and the pillows and 1!!! blanket stank as well, it was unbelievable. A good nights sleep was also made impossible by loudly barking dogs outside and lots of mosquitos. The floor was so dirty that our socks went from white to black after just 10 minutes of walking around. Furthermore the sunroof didnt work and the kitchen was tiny and not equipped for cookingand the air conditioning didnt do a lot for upstairs (bedroom). I tried to get a refund of some sort and was refunded roughly 38€ out of 489€ we payed for the entire trip. It was a nightmare and we definitely wont come back to wonderful italy ever again. We even got ill during and after the vacation, due to the dust, dirt and mold everywhere. It ruined our vacation.

Great apartament in great localization, every thing is near, great bakery, pizza kalimera and crispello just on the street below the balcony. Main square and fish market just 2min from flat. Just wonderfull apartament with great localization!
