Great, old house with charm in the middle of the countryside. Many attractions such as Älgpark Virum, Astrid Lindgren World, ... can be reached in just under 1 hour by car. You can also spend time in and around the house with a sauna, baking pizza, picking mushrooms and so on. There are many employment opportunities and there is always something new to discover, even for children.
The house is partly in need of renovation, but due to the excellent cleanliness and very good facilities, this is not a problem at all. There is everything you need. The German-speaking owner is very helpful if you have any questions.
There are shopping opportunities in Kisa after an 18-minute drive. There are several lakes not far away. We found the most beautiful beach with a playground, boat rental and table tennis table at the Pinnarp campsite and a great swimming area with delicious waffles at the Väffelcafe Öknehult.
We can highly recommend a carriage ride and a horseback ride with Woldurf.
We really enjoyed our time and can recommend Sweden and this accommodation in particular to everyone.

This is our second time at Varpstugan. The first time was 5 years ago as a family of 5, and now in 2022 as a family of 6. Our children are 2, 6, 8, and 10 years old. We had a wonderful time. The cabin is rustic but, despite its seemingly basic amenities, offers a lot (electricity, hot water, bathroom, shower, toilet, sauna, kitchen, fireplace, wood-burning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, children's room with bunk bed, bedroom, play area, trampoline, children's hut, Wi-Fi, etc.) and has even been renovated a bit since the last time. We stayed for two weeks and had a truly wonderful time as a family. The weather surprised us with temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius, which made the numerous visits to the surrounding lakes all the more enjoyable. There are beautiful forests in the immediate vicinity, and it's quite a walk to the lakes with children. But on the other hand, there are very few mosquitoes! There's always something for children to discover in the cabin. Adults and children alike will find something to enjoy. Admittedly, the ideal family size is probably 4-5 people, but the sofa in the living room folds out into a comfortable bed, making it suitable for larger families or groups. We used the play area above the bedroom as a children's room 5 years ago, and this time, too, the older children preferred to sleep with us. Since there's no connection between the old and new buildings, you might have to leave the house at night and go out onto the terrace, which scared our kids a bit. The parents' bed is spacious, the mattress a bit soft for our taste. The sauna is simple but does its job reliably.
My personal highlight is the old wood-burning oven, which allowed us to make a particularly delicious homemade pizza.
By car, you can quickly get to the shops or the lake. We even took a horse-drawn carriage ride. There's so much more to write...
We fell in love with Varpstugan and had two particularly wonderful times here.
